Wednesday: Sci-Fi Fantasy

HI Students! This week please turn in 1500 words of your short story writing. If your short story is 1500 or more, then great! If you finished your story before getting to 1500, then please choose your writing from one of the in-class writing prompts and add to that. You may do that to a couple of our in-class prompts. When you share with me you final 1500 words, please have all of your stories in one shared document (if you are working with the in-class prompts as well).
PLEASE edit your story! Here is a brief grading rubric:

_____20 You have 1500 words!
_____20 Your story(ies) is/are proofread with correct grammar and punctuation.
_____20 Your writing shows effort , originality and creativity.
_____60 total points

Wednesday: Sci-Fi- Fant

Hi Students....Ok! The students have spoken and I have listened! Reading is always a good thing, so if you have already finished the Neverending Story, then you are awesome! But, If you are struggling and not enjoying the book feel free to put it down. (most of you left it on the desk.) We will move on with our lives. Please begin your own creative fantasy story. You may work on the back story or out line. You may still be forming ideas or you may just want to jump in cold turkey and start writing. Whatever you method, be ready to share with the class next week.
Watch this tutorial on starting a new story and see if it inspires you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYZqhZp-YJI
Fast fwd through parts that you do not resonate with. He talks very slowly but I think his points are valid and can help.
I will look forward to hearing about your progress and creativity next week.  Thanks! Mrs. G
