Wednesday: Sci Fi Fantasy

Hi Students! Nice work finishing the book! I loved our discussion regarding the rising action of the plot today. I gave you two pieces of cardstock and 2 light bulbs. Please re-draw or cut out the lightbulb onto the sturdier cardstock paper. Within the light bulb shape, draw the scenes that you chose in class within the light bulbs (2 scenes, 2 bulbs). I am going to hang a string of lightbulbs so just remember to have the threads of the bulb at the top! On the back of each bulb, I want you to answer/list these three questions:

You may use my sentence starters or create your own.

  1. The quote that best represents this plot point in the rising action of The City Of Ember is “.............” (#).
  2. This point in the plot moves the story toward the climax because…..
  3. In this scene one thing I learned about the character of……. is…….

Please be thorough in your answers. I will hand it back and have you re-do it if there is not enough information provided. Thank you! Have a great week! Mrs. G

HI Students! WOW! You were all very passionate about your potential City of Ember jobs! That was ....fun. This week please read the next several chapters in Ember, up to page132 or up to ch. 10. Continue to annotate with sticky notes or bookmarks or however you like to do it! We talked about the rising action of the plot or a related series of incidents in a literary plot that build toward the point of greatest interest. Please annotate areas of these next few chapters that contribute to the rising action. Here is a link to the HW questions:
Make a copy of this doc and rename it: Your name: Ember: Reading guide ch. 6-10.
Thanks! Have a great week! Mrs. G
