Description: This class is for students who have played violin, viola, cello, or bass for one or more years and will give students the opportunity to build ensemble skills in an orchestral setting. Tone production, ensemble playing, intonation, music terms associated with playing, and performing introductory orchestral pieces will be the primary focus of this class. Parents will need to supply a properly sized violin, viola, cello, or bass and all necessary equipment. Students will participate in several performances per year including outside strings clinics, and end of semester school performances. NOTE: At home practice and parental involvement required. Students are expected to practice at least 120 minutes per week. Practice records are a part of students’ grades.

Performance 12/16

Students need to practice their songs for the performance next week at the all school performance at 2pm.  They have been working hard on their songs and are sounding great!  We look forward to seeing you there!

Continue working on Believe, Ode to Joy, and La Donna.  Remember to use the entire bow for a full rich sound.

Today students started learning a new song, Believe.  They also learned an eighth note followed by 2 16ths, and 2 16ths followed by an eighth note.

Today students continued to review where they left off last year and concepts they learned last year.  They are sounding great together and are listening well to each other!
