Play the rhythm video 1 time everyday you practice this week. Count as you play it with your drumsticks.

#98 and #99- play 3x per day
#101 - play 1x per day with bow
#102- learn this and play 1x a day pizz.

Be able to play these next class period with bow.
We don't have school next week due to testing so you have two weeks to learn this music.
Practice at least 10 minutes a day for 10 days before our next class.

This week you each get a different assignment:

ALL STUDENTS: Do the rhythm video. This is a "play-along" video. As the music plays the rhythm lights up. Clap, tap, or find some drumsticks(pencils) to use to play the rhythms. Try and keep up!

Annabelle- Catch up on assignments from last week if your wrist will allow it. Otherwise, take a break until you are able to play again.

A.J.- Start on the song you are on with Mrs. Austin. Learn it well and go on. Send me a video of you playing these songs.

Ellanore- Work on the assignments I gave you during our session last week. Please turn in at least one video or play for me in office hours. Please also fill out as many missing practice records as possible .

This week we are going to skip ahead temporarily in the book to #82 and #83.
This two songs introduce you to playing music with more than one part. #82 is a round. A round is a song where everyone plays the same melody but starts at different times.
#83 is called a duet. A duet is a type of music where there are 2 different parts being played at the same time. A melody and a Harmony.
What to do this week:
1-Watch both videos of Mrs. Fritsche and myself demonstrating both these songs for you so you can better understand a round versus a duet.
2- Learn to play #82 AND BOTH parts, A and B, on #83
3- Record yourself playing one of these songs and turn it in here. (either part A or B on #83)
4- Fill out your practice record.

Welcome Back, Strings Kids!
We are going to start our class with a review. You will be watching the video that is for your instrument and reviewing Bow hold, bow placement, lifts, rests, and several other skills we learned last semester. Open your books to page 14 for this review and listen and play along.(Cello, your video was recorded last semester but it still covers what we are reviewing today.)
Dr. Hinkie created an excellent review video for each instrument and I wanted to share those with you. IGNORE WHAT HE SAYS ABOUT YOUR ASSIGNMENT! DO MY ASSIGNMENT BELOW.
Assignments:
1) Record yourself playing a D Major Scale with the bow going up and down the scale. Pay attention to having a straight bow, correct bow hold, and correct posture. Submit the video here for 10 points.
2) Fill in your week 16 practice record found in the practice record section of the classroom

Watch and play along with the video.
We are doing numbers 50-53.
Homework:
Record a video of yourself playing either #52 or #53 and turn it in to this assignment.
Practice 5 days a week and fill in your practice record.

Record a video of you playing one song from #34-#41 and attach it to this assignment OR come play it for me in office hours.

Practice #33,34,35,36 using the Say and Play technique and using the Slow Practice Technique

CELLOS- Helpful hint about your endpin: Your endpin should be pulled out as far as the tip of your thumb to the tip of your pinkie with your fingers spread out.
