Hello everyone, we are going to finish the Southwest Region and you will have two weeks to finish since Spring Break will be next week. It will be due on Thurs. April 1st or Friday April 2nd depending on your day of attendance. We will be coming back in person at that time. If you are coming in person you can hand in this assignment online and we will begin the new unit in person. Bring your binder when you come in person we will add to it! Bring your brochure as well, I would love to see it!

If you are remaining online you will continue as we have been doing all year, we will have a new packet for you to pick up.

Welcome back, I'm so glad to see you back in Road Trip, we will begin this year by visiting the Midwest Region. I put together a new packet of materials for this semester containing the information you need for the Midwest and the Southwest Regions. If you don't have your packet yet it can be picked up at APEX this week. Here are the activities for this week:

You should have all of the new materials for this section from the beginning of the year packet. If you don't have the needed materials, let me know. Hello, this week our road trip will finish up the Northeast Region of the United States, by visiting Pennsylvania. Watch this week’s video to guide you through the activities, if you haven’t finished your scrapbook continue working on that and send me a picture or stop by office hours to show it to me . I hope you have learned a lot about the Northeast Region!

1. Fill out your flashcard for Pennsylvania/Harrisburg.

2. Label Pennsylvania and Harrisburg on your Mid -Atlantic states map.

3. Complete the map quiz( as described in the video.)

4. Watch the Pennsylvania state video.

5. Complete the scrapbook, if you haven't yet, Place to Visit, Interesting Fact and the Map. Share the scrapbook with me(picture, email or office hours.)

6. Our goal is to memorize as many of the states and capitals as possible by the end of the year.

Optional souvenir from Pennsylvania:
The Liberty Bell - To make the Liberty Bell you will need a toilet paper roll, a small paper or plastic cup, foil, brown paper, marker etc.

*Color or cover the toilet paper roll in brown. Write LIBERTY across the roll in black.
*If you want to put a bell in the middle (see the picture) poke a hole in the top of the cup. (You will need a pipe cleaner and a bell).
*Cover the cup in foil, poke a hole in the foil also( if you are adding the bell). Poke a hole in the roll (the bell and pipe cleaner go through the cup and roll.)
*Draw a crack on the bell with a black marker.
*See the pictures below. If you make one I would love to see it!

Let' continue our journey in the Northwest Region of the United States! Watch this week's video to guide you through these activities:

We will finish the scrapbook this week, write a short sentence and draw a picture about the culture p.3, place you would like to visit p.4 and an Interesting fact p.4 ( send me a picture, post here, email me or bring your complete scrapbook to office hours.). You get extra points for your finished scrapbook this week! ** If this seems like too much for 1 week you can continue to work on the scrapbook page 4 for next week also.**

9. Watch the Delaware and Maryland Videos. (they are fun and short, located below.)

Optional Souvenir: Delaware and Maryland are both coastal states so we made a beach in a jar! I provided a few pictures of one I made but you can use your ideas too. If you make one, send me a picture, I would love to see it!

Welcome to week 5, we are traveling to Connecticut and Rhode Island this week. I tried to make the video a little shorter this week to make it easier to download. The video will guide you through the following activities:

6. Optional souvenirs if you would like to make 1 or more of them. Leaf Project: you could use the template below with colored paper, magazine clippings, markers, crayons or watercolors. You could also make a leaf rubbing with a real leaf under a piece of paper rubbing the crayon over the top. If you make one I would love to see it!
