Hello everyone, this week is going to be fun!  You get to being making your marketing poster, Google Slide or other digital presentation to market your business.  You can decide if you would like to do a poster or a digital presentation and you will have two weeks to complete the project as we will be working on it for two weeks in class.  If you complete a poster you will send me a picture and if you complete a digital presentation I will have you send it to me. Here are the directions:


1.  Watch this week's video ( it is short, I describe the project and rubric for you).


2.  Choose what type of presentation you would like to do.


3.  Look at the rubric (this tells you what you should include in your presentation) it is right above the video under my name. If you click where it says rubric criteria the list will open up and describe each item.


4.  Work on your project for the next two weeks, it will be due Thursday, May 14th.

Hello Everyone,  this week we are going to come up with the marketing plan for your business.  I provided a Marketing Plan for you to gather your ideas on, if you don't have something to write in every space that is ok.  You will use this to help you think about what your marketing plan might look like and you can refer to your 2 earlier business plans as well.

3.  Brainstorm your business ideas.  Examples: Dog walking, lawn mowing/snow shoveling, pet sitter, make jewelry, make birdhouses. Think about what best fits you, your talents and interests.
4.  Decide if your business is a service or product-based. (Business plans are located below).
5.  Complete the Service business plan or the Product business plan. You don't have to do both!
6.  Send me a picture of your completed plan.
7. You can definitely ask your parents, grandparents or anyone you know for advice and ideas.

Week 26 - Starting a Business

Hello everyone, I hope you had a very nice Spring Break! To wrap up Ameritowne this year you are going to put to use many of the topics we have learned about this year by creating a business of your own. We will go step by step and guide you through the project by doing one piece each week to get to the final project.


Here is the first step in creating your business, you are going to complete a Skills and Interest Inventory to help guide you to what type of business might be the best fit for you.  The Inventory is located below, go through each section and write the answers that best fit you. I provided an example for you to look at as well.  Send me a picture of your completed inventory.  Here are the sections you will fill out:


1.  Fill out the list of activities that you enjoy.
2.  Fill out the list of your strengths and abilities.
3.  Write  2 areas you feel you know a lot about (expertise) and 2 areas you would like to know more about.
4.   Section 4 you will fill out ways you can help others, issues that affect you and others and what are skills you would like to improve on.
5.  Last, write a sentence about something you are passionate about (care a lot about).


You may want to start brainstorming some business ideas as you fill out the inventory, have a great week and we will continue next week.

This week we are going to be Advertising executives! Last week you came up with a slogan for the lunch container project that you thought was the best based on the P.A.C.E.D chart. You had so many great slogans, I would like you to take your slogan and create a video, Google Slide/slides or a poster highlighting your project. Share it with me. This is open ended so be as creative as you would like to be!

I hope you had a good week and had time to go through last week's lesson and think about what a consumer is and what producers do. This week we are taking a look at a model businesses use to help them make decisions, that we can use too. In this lesson you will find the PACED, Decision- Making Grid and you will fill it out to help you decided which lunch container is the best for you and then you will come up with a marketing slogan for that product based on it's price quality or convenience.
