Description: The United States didn't become great by accident. Nor did it happen overnight! Join us as we study key Americans who have helped shape America into a country in which we truly enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. As we study these great Americans, we will also be taking a brief look at the specific attributes of the time in which they lived. Our studies will begin with America's founding fathers and conclude with some modern day history makers who are still living today! Which of our Famous Americans will inspire YOU to be the next Great American?

For homework please complete the front page sections, Captain Lewis, Captain Clark and Sacagawea, as well as complete two other sections of your choosing on the inside. These five sections are due next class. Note: the completed flip-folder will be due the week of December 2nd.

Next week students will recite the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution from memory. In addition, they will also need to know how to sign both their first and last name in cursive. Look in the Post section for Famous Americans for a link to the School House Rock version of the Preamble. It is set to music, and you might find it easier to memorize this way.
