Andrea Zakelj

Andrea Zakelj (pronounced zuh-Kell) has over 15 years of experience in elementary education, as a classroom teacher and homeschool educator herself.  She has a deep commitment to making history tangible for students in grades 3-6. With a B.A. in Elementary Education, Andrea specializes in project-based learning and immersive simulations that bring the social studies curriculum to life. Andrea is a firm believer that some of the best lessons are learned off the beaten path. An avid explorer of the Colorado landscape, she can often be found hiking local trails, camping, or skiing with her family. Her personal passion for the outdoors and traveling fuels her desire to find educational threads in every experience, whether she is exploring a historical landmark or a mountain pass. Having spent nearly a decade as a homeschool educator, Andrea uniquely understands the importance of fostering curiosity and supporting diverse family learning needs. She is thrilled to bring her spirit of adventure and her love for spending quality time with her husband and two children into the classroom, inspiring the next generation of historians to explore the world around them.
