Steven - Advanced Drawing & Painting

Description: The goal of this course is for students to engage in the advanced development of drawing and painting skills. There will be in­depth study of drawing and painting techniques using a wide variety of materials. Students will be able to demonstrate competency by understanding and executing the techniques involved with the Art Elements: Shape, Value, Line, and Texture, as well as color. Methods and techniques mastered include Gesture, Contour, Organizational Measurement, Perspective, Foreshortening, and Composition. Students will begin to understand Art History and current artistic movements as well as contemporary art theory as it relates to drawing and painting.
