Things are going along wonderfully in class!  Be sure you are practicing and memorizing everything you can.  In the next two weeks we are hoping to finish (or come super close to finishing) the rest of the show so that we can spend the time after Spring Break tweaking and fixing things to just the way we want them.  Sing, dance, practice your lines, and have fun doing it!

Musical Theatre- 1/31/20

This is a quick reminder to all Musical Theatre students that if you have a part in the show-- a speaking part or a solo-- you should be practicing it and memorizing it at home now.  Don't wait to learn it until we are in class.  Class time is for working on blocking, improving singing and blend, choreography, etc.  All music, parts, and solos should be learned and memorized at home.  Start on it now so you won't be overwhelmed in class.  You guys looked and sounded so amazing today!  Such great work and such amazing voices!  Keep it up!

Things are sounding great!
I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that the Musical Theatre class will be part of the performances on December 20th from 2:00-3:00 in the Apex gym.
Keep singing, dancing, and listening to your music over the break.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Music Update- Mrs.Austin

Hello wonderful parents!  I know many of you have wondered where I've been the last couple of weeks.  I had a small surgery and then some health complications afterwords that have slowed me down considerably.  I am hoping that I am on the healthy side of things now and will be back to normal teaching. I apologize for any confusion that my absence may have caused for your family as you try to work on practicing during the week, and I thank you so much for your patience and understanding as I try to regain my health.  Thank you for having such wonderful students that make coming back to work a gift for me.  If you have any questions about your child's school work please feel free to email me.  I am hoping to have enough energy to make it through conferences but if I miss you please, please do contact me.  Your students mean so much to me and I consider partnering with you in their education a great privilege.  Thank you, Mrs. Austin

Musical Theatre 9/6/19- Homework

Today we talked about auditions.  Students are asked to pick a song from a musical that is in their vocal range.  Nothing from Hamilton, Greatest Showman, Frozen, or Moana.  Next week come in with ideas for songs they may want to sing.  Accompaniment music can be found online at places like YouTube, AmazonMusic, iTunes, Spotify, etc.  by searching the title with "karaoke" or "trax" at the end.  Also, we will be asking students to bring in a recording either on a CD or another recorded method like an MP3 player, a phone, etc.  Please talk with your student on the best way to do this and bring any questions next week.
Have a wonderful week!
