Due:
Please complete the preview and the text sections. If you would like some extra credit, complete the processing section. I will give extra credit on it commensurate with the amount of effort demonstrated.
Due:
Print out the map. Then color code states by their voting history (color in) as Democrat (blue), Republican (Red), or swing state (Purple). Donor states are rich states in which the population pays more in taxes to the federal government than they get back in government services. They are indicated in the chart by a score less than 1.0. Welfare states are poor states in which the population gets more money back in services (generally entitlement spending) than they pay in taxes. They have scores greater than 1.0. Write the donor/welfare score for 2013 on each of the states on the map. Then answer the questions.
Due:
Please play through Fiscal Ship at fiscalship.org. There is a certificate at the end of the game. Upload a screen shot of it when you have met all of your badge goals. If you have also met your deficit reduction goal I will give you an additional 20 points extra credit!!!! Happy spring and good luck on your tests!

Please read the article and answer the questions. Then look at the Nolan Survey to choose your top economic and social issues to assess the strict or loose constructionism inherent in your policy preferences.
Due:
It seems appropriate to pause a bit to reflect on the election and all of the challenges facing our nation this week. So, instead of formal homework this week, please take some time to tune into the election. If you would like to submit a minimum of two reflective paragraphs regarding the electoral process this cycle and/or the public reaction to the election, I will accept them for extra credit. However, the amount of credit will be dependent on the quality of your reflection. If it does not demonstrate significant study of the election (with enough specific details) or critical thinking on the topic it will not be worth credit. Please only do this if you are going to put in real effort for extra credit.
Due:
Please read the material and answer the following questions:

Due:
There is an annotated copy of the Constitution starting on Page 352 of your text for this assignment. Please read the annotation if you don't understand the original text. The language is cumbersome. Also, I purposefully highlighted amendments that are matters of modern controversy for this assignment. Please make a mental note of the fact that both liberal and conservative stands argue for strict and loose constructionism as it suits their political opinions.
Due:
Please use the attached handout to complete the notebook guide and hand in your work.
