Hello everyone! This week we will finish Odd and the Frost Giants and be able to complete the Hero's Journey chart. 


Please complete the following steps and reach out if you have any questions.

3. Complete the "Activity: Hero's Journey" steps 7-12. I've included the template incase you need a new copy of it. 



Be sure to return your Odd and the Frost Giants book to APEX at your earliest convenience. 

Hello everyone! This week we will continue reading Odd and the Frost Giants. You will be reading 2 chapters, and then be able to complete the next 3 steps of the Hero's Journey chart.

3. Complete steps 4-6 of the "Activity:Hero's Journey." I have attached a copy incase you need a new one. Otherwise, you can add to your copy from last week.

This week students will learn about what the Hero's Journey is and how Odd and the Frost Giants follows the same archetype.

Hello everyone! This week you will get an introduction to who the Vikings were and Norse mythology.

3. Complete a picture of a Bifrost bridge taking you from where you are to anywhere you want to go. I can't wait to see where you would go!

This week you will get to see the final projects your classmates made for their Egyptian projects.

Please complete the following steps and reach out with any questions you may have.

2.Use the "Myths and Heroes week 26" slides to explore and watch each other's final projects.
3. Complete the "printable-dice." Print off the die, and on one face put your name. On all the other five faces write numbers that represent something about you, or are special to you in some way. Be sure to explain to me what the numbers represent!

This week I will introduce some ideas for a final project so you can show what you've learned about Egyptian Mythology.

3. Complete one of the six described projects and turn it back in to me. It is due in two weeks time, which means you can turn it in over spring break - but please feel free to turn it in sooner.

Hi everyone! This is the last week you will have to work on your Egyptian Mythology Final Project. There is no additional work assigned this week but I wanted to share with you a fun story, the Egyptian Cinderella. Enjoy the story and I look forward to seeing your final projects.

Hi everyone! This week we will learn about the allusion "Achilles' heel." Did you know that you have an Achilles tendon? That REAL body part was named after this LEGENDARY CHARACTER!

Due to the Thanksgiving break you all are getting a break from completing the "Achilles' Heel Meaning" activity. I removed it from the Google Classroom resources, even though the directions in the video say to complete it. Please know you are not required to do any more than learn about Achilles this week.

This week you will review the first 6 tasks of Heracles and then learn about the next 6. While you go over them think about what the allusion might mean "a Herculean task."

3. Complete BOTH activities: "Activity: Labors of Heracles 7-12" to summarize the last 7 tasks, and the "Activity-Herculean Allusion" to explain what you think the allusion means.

We will spend the next two weeks looking at the 12 Labors of Heracles (also known as Hercules). This week you will summarize the first 6 labors. Next week, after learning all 12 Labors, you should have a good idea of what the allusion "A Herculean Task" means.

Another common allusion you might have heard is "You have a Midas Touch." This allusion originates from the story of King Midas.

3. Watch the "King Midas Silly Symphony" video.
4. Summarize the story and explain the meaning of the allusion on the "Midas Touch Meaning" slide.

Hi everyone! This week we will dive into allusions - an allusion is a reference to a person, thing, or event from history or literature.
Greek mythology contains a lot of allusions. This week we will read Pandora's Box and focus on what the meaning of the story is.

Please complete the following activities. Reach out with any questions!

3. Complete the "Pandora's Box Meaning" slide.

Feel free to print out the Pandora's Box story for yourself, but this is not required.
