This week I would like you to begin writing your book. Make sure you use 10 unique verbs with the Estar + gerund conjugations. Upload a at least 10 sentences in a google doc or .pdf to this assignment.

Here are some verbs to get you started:
saltar - to jump or skip
correr - to run
beber - to drink
volar - to fly bailar - to dance
caminar - to walk
cantar - to sing
hablar - to talk
escribir - to write
caer - to tumble or fall
comer - to eat
balancear - to swing
deslizar - to slide
girar - to spin


If you want to use the "8 Silly Monkeys" as a base, here is the translation. Feel free to change out the characters, the adjective, the place, etc. and I have left spaces for the verbs.

8 silly monkeys ______ on the bed.
Ocho monos tontos _______ sobre la cama.

One falls off and bumps his head.
Uno se cae y se golpea la cabeza.

Mama calls the doctor and the doctor says,
Mamá llama el médico y el médico dice,

"No more monkeys _______ on the bed!"
"Nada más monos ____________ sobre la cama!"

There are 2 assignments this week (32 points total). If you do the worksheets in this order, assignment 1 will help you with assignment 2.

1. Open your copy of the attached Google Sheet and conjugate the gerund form of the verbs into the 12 purple rectangles. (12 points)

2. Complete the attached worksheet with the correct conjugations of ESTAR and the corresponding gerund. (15 points)

I will not be hosting office hours this week so if you have any questions, send me an email or write a private comment here. If needed, I am able to schedule a WebEx meeting this week. I will be checking email multiple times a day like usual.

Using your notes from class complete the following 2 worksheets and submit them via the Classroom app. For the bottom section attempt 5 sentences for each verb (ser and estar). I will grade you on your effort and correct conjugation of the ser and estar verbs. Please email me or write a private comment if you have questions.

This is a review of our verb endings for -ar, -er, and -ir verbs. Using your notes, conjugate the following charts of words to the verb matches the pronoun.

While you are watching your schoolmates present their countries, take notes and upload them to this assignment. The minimum is 5 facts for each country.

2. Upload your self-assessment rubric to this assignment. Your self assessment is the Presentation Rubric marked with what points you think you achieved with your presentation. Do NOT add your self-assessment to the Google drive Folder.

I will grade you based on this same Presentation Rubric.

3. Upload photos of any props or visual aids that you made or used to this assignment.

This week we are learning our IR verb endings. Complete IMG_0127 and IMG_0128 and upload them into your classroom. Please make sure you check IC and have all your work submitted before you finish classes for Winter Break. If you have any questions, please email me or come to my office hours from 12:30-1:00 Monday-Friday.

This week we are learning the ER verb endings. In the video I also did a quick review of the pronouns. During the video I reference the word "beber" but we have not learned "beber", even as a bonus word, so do not worry if you don't recognize it. Watch the ER verb ending video, complete the 2 pages below, submit them into our google classroom, and let me know if you have any questions.

Conjugate the following 12 verbs and submit so I can check your understanding.

This week we are completing a "Describir la foto" about my favorite holiday, el Dia de Accion de Gracias. After listening to the description, answer all the questions in your cuaderno and turn them in via the classroom. If you would rather join me during office hours and show me your answers, that is a great way to turn in your work as well. Have a great Thanksgiving!

This week I am explaining how to conjugate verbs that end in -AR. When verbs are in their infinitive they mean "to do something". Once conjugated they tell who is doing their meaning based on their ending. After watching the lesson please complete the following worksheets. Please let me know if you have any questions.

This week we are learning about pronouns. Watch the video below then submit a video of you pronouncing the pronouns and also submit a photo of the notes in your cuaderno. Your homework is to submit a video AND a photo. Please let me know if you have any questions!

After watching the video below you are going to write 16 sentences in your cuaderno or in a google doc. You should write 4 sentences with each of the following I verb forms; corto, escribo, leo, and miro. Make sure you translate your sentence in to English so I know what you meant to write. Upload a picture of your completed sentences here. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Watch the video below as I explain the difference between definite and indefinite articles and how to use them with nouns in Spanish. Please submit photos of your notes and the 3 worksheets once you are finished. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Upload a labeled drawing of a classroom or a list of all our classroom object vocabulary with a picture next to the word. Feel free to look up more words that are not on our list. Please have at least 15 labels in your diagram.

Here is a video going through some classroom objects. For your homework, you can write these words 5-10 times each in Spanish and English OR look up new words of objects that are found in a classroom. Whichever option you choose, we may have a quiz on the vocabulary in this video so make sure you practice the words in the video.
