Description: This course will allow students to have a truly handson experience with world economics, global resources, international relations, personal finance, and budgeting through preparation for and involvement in the International Towne Field Trip to Young Americans Bank in Denver in the spring. Participation in the field trip is REQUIRED of all students taking the International Towne class (date TBD). Parents should be aware that although APEX allows 5th and 6th graders to sign up for International Towne in our multiage classes, Young Americans Bank designed the curriculum at a 7th-grade level. Please keep this in mind as you decide whether your student is ready to take this class.

Our field trip is on April 6th from 10:00 AM to 2:00. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT STUDENTS ARE ON TIME so they can get set up before the opening ceremony. So, please time the morning so they arrive a few minutes early. It is also very important to pick your student up promptly at 2:00 because we teachers have to wait at the bank until all students are picked up. The address of Young Americans Bank is 3550 East 1st Ave. in Denver. It is very close to Cherry Creek Mall and other major attractions you can enjoy while your student is enjoying Towne. Please refrain from lingering at Towne when your student is dropped off as it is disruptive to the simulation. I will bring all of the materials students need for the day with me. However, they will need a water bottle and a sack lunch.

PARENTS:
We had high hopes that we would be able to get a bus to transport students to International Towne this year. But, sadly, they did not work out. So, parents will have to provide transportation as we have done in the past.

If you were not in class today you can find cover letter and resume templates for kids online to make it easier for you to pull yours together. But, it is VERY important that you come to class with them done so you can interview for a position. Our timeline will not permit me to delay position assignments another week and still have the class ready for the big trip. PARENTS NEEDED!!!!!!!! - Please read about the different kinds of plastic money and complete the Card Confusion crossword puzzle.
- Please take the Are You Ready for Credit survey and then do your best to fill out the International Towne credit application. Many of you will have to list your parents as your employer and your allowance as your salary if you want to fill the form out accurately. However, the reason IT wants you to fill this out is so you can see what is on a credit application. So, I encourage you to have fun with it and fill it out like you are an adult with your dream job, etc. You might want to look up what financing on your dream car would be for fun too!
