Morrison - International Towne (Section Tues 5) Assignments

Our field trip is on April 6th from 10:00 AM to 2:00. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT STUDENTS ARE ON TIME so they can get set up before the opening ceremony.  So, please time the morning so they arrive a few minutes early.  It is also very important to pick your student up promptly at 2:00 because we teachers have to wait at the bank until all students are picked up.  The address of Young Americans Bank is 3550 East 1st Ave. in Denver.  It is very close to Cherry Creek Mall and other major attractions you can enjoy while your student is enjoying Towne. Please refrain from lingering at Towne when your student is dropped off as it is disruptive to the simulation.  I will bring all of the materials students need for the day with me. However, they will need a water bottle and a sack lunch.

PARENTS:

We had high hopes that we would be able to get a bus to transport students to International Towne this year.  But, sadly, they did not work out.  So, parents will have to provide transportation as we have done in the past.

If you are a president or the chief justice, please review the Country Meeting Agenda to prepare yourself for running the meeting for your country next week.  You will be in charge but I will be available if you have any questions.  Congratulations on your position placement!

Please use the sample materials you received in class to finish your cover letter and resume for use in your job interview next week.  If you were not in class today you can find cover letter and resume templates for kids online to make it easier for you to pull yours together.  But, it is VERY important that you come to class with them done so you can interview for a position.  Our timeline will not permit me to delay position assignments another week and still have the class ready for the big trip.  PARENTS NEEDED!!!!!!!!  We need several parent volunteers to help conduct position training during class the week of February 24^th.  Please email me at [email protected] if you would be available to help.

We are still in DIRE need of PARENT VOLUNTEERS for the Tuesday and Wednesday classes next week.  If you can spare an hour from 12:15-1:15 on the 25th and/or 26th it will be very helpful.  Otherwise some of our students will not receive the training for their positions in time to be able to begin to take their role in their country meetings.

1.      Please read about the different kinds of plastic money and complete the Card Confusion crossword puzzle.
2.      Please take the Are You Ready for Credit survey and then do your best to fill out the International Towne credit application.  Many of you will have to list your parents as your employer and your allowance as your salary if you want to fill the form out accurately.  However, the reason IT wants you to fill this out is so you can see what is on a credit application.  So, I encourage you to have fun with it and fill it out like you are an adult with your dream job, etc.  You might want to look up what financing on your dream car would be for fun too!
