Welcome to Mrs. Kofford’s 2nd Grade!

Bio:

Denise Kofford received her B.A. degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Chico State University, CA and her Elementary Teaching Credential from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA.  She taught 3rd grade for 5 years and tutored kindergarten through 5th grade children for over 20 years before joining APEX in 2013.  Her passion for working with children carries over into the classroom where she values creating a captivating learning environment for all children.  Students of all ages are encouraged to investigate and discover real-world concepts through a hands-on, inquiry-based learning model.  During her time at APEX, Denise has taught elementary social studies, language arts, science, and robotics.  She found 2nd grade to be the perfect fit, and has continued to develop her love for teaching literacy through specialized Orton Gillingham training.  Her mission is to encourage an intrinsic lifelong love of learning in every student!   Denise loves to decorate, exercise, travel, garden, read, and dance the hula!  She lives in Longmont with her husband of 35 years.
