Description: Students will experience the excitement of drum ensemble by playing on a variety of instruments from Africa, Cuba, Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America, and North America. Rhythmic patterns from various world cultures will be taught as well as drumming and mallet technique. Students will work together as a group and with the director to create complex ensembles which will be performed at various times throughout the school year.

Today we worked on our performance songs.  Our performance will be at the all school performance on December 17th.
 
Homework: Carol of the Bells, The Hey, Hey Song.

October 8, 2019

Practice the "recorder" part on the xylophone.  
Practice playing the Low Drum part with the video of the recorder part.

September 10, 2019

Today we continued learning The Hey, Hey Song and playing as an ensemble.  We started learning the Alto Xylophone part.  
 
Homework: The Hey, Hey Song Sop. Xylo part and Alto Xylo part

We had a great first day of class.  We learned different techniques on how to play the drums and started to play as an ensemble.  They did a great job!
