Yearbook is DONE!!!

Hi everyone! I sure wish we could have met this week. I miss you all! Thank you to those of you who have helped with editing this week... if you haven't done so already, please look over the whole yearbook by no later than this Sunday, March 22nd and let me know if you see anything that needs to be fixed/changed. After that, I am calling the yearbook done! Thank you so much for all of your hard work. I think the book looks great! I will be submitting it for printing early next week. Yay!

Editing Help

Hello! Hope you all are well! The yearbook is about finished and I would like to ask for your help in editing it! Please thoroughly look through every page of the book and email me anything you think needs to be added or changed. If possible, please do so as soon as possible so we can get it submitted for print! Thanks for all your work with this!

Yearbook Update

Hello! We have spent the last several weeks polishing our grade-level Candid Pages and we are finally done! Now on to the rest of the book! We have selected a front and back cover, backgrounds, and borders, and have sorted out what we will include in the remaining "Fun Pages" of the book. We will spend the next few weeks working on these, and we will submit the yearbook for printing right around Spring Break! Thanks for all the hard work!

News from Yearbook Class

Hello! Welcome to 2nd Semester! We are very excited to have started creating the actual yearbook! We have chosen the grade-level pages we wanted to create and have started making our Candid Pages! We will work on these for the next several weeks, as these pages take the most time. Please remember to bring your device to class charged and ready to go every week!

Yearbook Update

We have finished up all of our practice work and are ready to start creating the actual yearbook when we return from break! Please upload any photos that still need to be uploaded over the break so we are ready to go in full force in January! Have a wonderful break and we will see you next year!

Missing Assignments

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that we have a lot of missing assignments in this class- particularly the Template Assignment that was due today. Please check your student's grade in Infinite Campus as grades will be finalized in the next two weeks.

Deadline Reminder

Just a reminder that there is homework due this week- take care of any items listed on your electronic sticky note on your Scavenger Hunt page and add a photo in text (you may want to rewatch the video on the website if you don't remember how to do this). It is extremely important that you are meeting deadlines for this class as we will begin creating the actual yearbook in a few weeks!

Update for Yearbook

As we are getting closer to creating the actual yearbook, we are polishing our design technique while still continuing to learn new skills. We will start taking pictures with a specific focus in order to have a wide variety of photos to choose from. We are beginning the process of deciding what our cover, theme, and pages will be like.

New Yearbook Homework Assignment- Assigned Week of 11/11, Due Week of 11/18

Hello! If you haven't had Yearbook Class yet this week, I will explain this assignment in detail in class. For homework this week, I would like you to log into the Yearbook Website and read the sticky note I have added to your page. If you need to add/fix anything, please do so. When you are finished, please check the "complete" box and drag the sticky note to the side of your page (please do not close out the sticky note as I still need to see the note I wrote to you to make sure you completed everything). Then, please add a photo to the text in your title. You may need to rewatch the video we saw in class called "Photos in Text" in order to do so. You may change your title to "APEX" if you would like. Make the font as big as you can, and then go to "Object" and "Convert to Shapes"- from here you can resize the image to make the font size even bigger if you want to. Experiment with the photos you choose to make into text- remember, if you want to take a new photo to use as your text, please tag it to your name and "Photos in Text" when you upload. Have fun with this!

Another Yearbook Homework Assignment

I have/will assign another set of videos to watch at home this week (Oct. 30 - Nov. 1) that will be due in class next week (Nov. 6-8). Here are the instructions on how to access the videos again in case you need them. Go to www.myhjyearbook.com, log in, click on the blue "Help" button in the top right corner of the screen, click on "Video Tutorials", and then select the title of the video (listed in bold on the note sheets). Please be sure you are completing these assignments- several students did not turn these in this week and they are for a grade. It is important that you are familiar with how to use the yearbook website as we will be starting to create the actual yearbook soon.

Yearbook Homework Assigned this Week

Yearbook homework has been assigned this week. Students have been asked to finish watching a few of the tutorial videos on the yearbook website and take notes for their "user manual" that they are creating (they were given a fill-in-the-blank sheet in class to use for this). Go to www.myhjyearbook.com, log in, click on the blue "Help" button in the top right corner of the screen, click on "Video Tutorials", and then select the title of the video (listed in bold on their note sheets). This is due at the beginning of class next week (Oct. 30 - Nov. 1).

Yearbook Update

We are learning more and more about how to use our yearbook website- we have been watching a few of the tutorial videos in class each week and taking notes for our own "user manuals" we are creating to help us when we start working on the actual yearbook. We have been taking pictures during class each week and are getting better at uploading and tagging our photos. We are still working on our "Photo Scavenger Hunt" spreads, adding to our pages as we learn new skills each week. Next we will be working with templates to design pages!

Yearbook Update

Hello! This week in class we learned how to upload and tag images on the yearbook website. Students started uploading their photos from the Photo Scavenger Hunt, and we will finish this up next week. If you are feeling ambitious, you can try to finish uploading your photos from home- the website is www.myhjyearbook.com, and please be sure to tag your photos once they've uploaded to both your name and "Scavenger Hunt". Next week we will learn how to rotate and delete images, as well as how to search and filter through images in our photo library. We will also begin our "Photo Scavenger Hunt Practice Spreads".
