Webb-Choir 5-8-Thursday Assignments

Work all of your songs and prepare them for recording next week:-)

Work hard on all sections of Banbury Cross.
Review the first 2 verses of Marienwurchen. Spend most of your time learning the pronunciation to the 3rd verse using the track I made for you. I want to be impressed when you sing for me next week!

Continue working on Marienwurmchen. Focus on the first 2 verses. 
Banbury Cross: It is now posted on the padlet. There is a specific alto only part. Sopranos- you will be able to learn your part from the recording of both parts at the same time. It is attached here. (Everyone can listen to the track attached here as it is a performance of the song). It should be easy to hear just the soprano line. If it is too difficult, please email me and I will make a separate track.
Sing your major scale as you play it on the piano.
Study the names of your lines and spaces in the treble clef.

Please keep learning Marienwurchen. Try to have the entire song learned before next class.

No class on the 12th and 15th so practice Marienwurchen, and Sisi Ni Moja for 2 weeks.

We are starting this week by doing a rhythm challenge. You will need drumsticks, pencils, your hands, or anything else you can tap or clap with. This is a play along. Follow along with the videos and play when the notes light up. It is easy at first and then gets more difficult as the video goes along. Try and keep up! Do this at least once this week.
Assignment:
Listen and practice to the pronunciation guide to Abendlied on the choir rehearsal tracks page on the padlet. https://padlet.com/webb_jennifer/u70xviodifqn
Next, sing along with Ms. Webb on this song on the Abendlied Vocals track.
Finally, sing along with just the piano track once you have learned the song.
Record a video of yourself singing with just the piano track and turn it in here.

We are continuing our "Singing in Italian" lesson by learning a few rules of Italian pronunciation and learning a new song in Italian.
The music for the song is attached below. One is for lower voice and one for high voice. (sorry, forgot to label them)
After learning the new song through the video and practicing for several days, do your best to record yourself singing the entire song to the accompaniment track. It doesn't have to be perfect. Upload the song here.

Hi Choir!
No video this week. Instead, do these things:
1) Practice sight singing 3 of the 5 examples on the attached sheet(11-15).Please do BOTH lines for each example.
2) Learn both the new warm ups I attached to this assignment. Hallelujah and Cups. The rehearsal tracks for both are on the padlet. You will be singing the TOP line only, so don't let the "echo" voices mess you up. We will be working on our singing technique with these 2 warm-ups next week.
ASSIGNMENT TO TURN IN HERE:
Record yourself either singing one of the new warm-ups OR one of the sight singing examples(both lines) and upload the video here.

We are continuing our work on Grow Little Tree.(New material coming next week!)
I highlight several singing problems I observed from your Grow little tree recordings you turned in last week.
Assignment:
Practice singing with support, with a plugged nose(see video), and work on the last half of the song.
After working on the problems I discuss in the video, please record yourself singing Grow Little Tree with the accompaniment track from the padlet. Attach it to this assignment. If you are struggling with that, please email me right away so we can arrange another way for you to get me the assignment.Due on October 26th at 9am.

After warming up watch the tutorial on how to pronounce the words for Grow, Little Tree. It is longer and sometimes some of the screens "tops" get cut off. Sorry! I did include the scan of the music today. HOWEVER, it MAY NOT be shared online or with anyone else outside of our choir due to copyright restrictions. Please keep it for your personal use only. We own hard copies and will distribute them either at school or on a pick-up day.
HOMEWORK:
After working hard on the diction and breathing (use my tutorial!), record yourself singing the entire song with the piano track on the padlet(follow the tracks link). Use your best diction. I should be able to understand every word. Use tall vowels as you sing. Upload your video to this assignment. It is worth 20 points and is due at 9am a week from today.
