Due:
Today we discussed how different elements form compounds.
We took some notes on Ionic bonds. This will be a two week long lesson, so we will do some of it today and we will complete the rest next week.
Homework:
1) digital escape room: periodic table. Print out the answer sheet to fill in. You do not need to print out the cards, you can look at them online. Log into the escape room link to see if you enter the correct codes to go to the next level. At the end, write down your completion code on your answer sheet, scan it and turn in just the answer sheet.
2)Ionic bonding practice ws- for each problem, write the the atomic symbol down, the # of valence of electrons and then draw the lewis dot structure for each one. We will work on the bonding part of it next week.
3) DE board: Week 9 ionic bonding
Special Note: Next week class (9/14) will be asynchronous- No in person class. I will post videos to watch on how to complete the rest of the bonding basics ws and how to finish the Ionic bonding ws.

Welcome to Inventions and Engineering.
This year in science, the most important thing you will be learning is how to communicate. It is very important to scientists to be able to record data accurately, using detail. They also need to be able to record their ideas and conclusions accurately. I will be expecting you to answer questions completely, using complete sentences and lots of details.
Let's spend some time checking out your De techbook. Let me know if you can not log into it.
Log in to the DE techbook. There is a link for it in the resources tab under your classwork in google classroom. There will be an assignment (a board) that will review the different parts of DE. Please take a moment to review it.
Homework: All homework will be assigned on Wednesdays and will be due the following Wednesday.
Read the introduction to Chemistry of Materials.
Fill out the Questionnaire (I have shared a copy of it with each of you, you can write directly on this copy. be sure to "turn in" your assignment when you complete it.
Printing: Most weeks I will be sending home an addition google classroom assignment with materials for you to print. These are worksheets needed for the next week's class.
