Hi Students! Read the instructions carefully in this week's homework. Choose the vocab words randomly and the discussion questions randomly as well! Read chapters 1-4 and answer the questions in the homework! Read the directions! Thanks!
Due:
Hi Students! I am so happy to have you in my class this year! We are starting with a really fun adventure book, Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. You probably have heard the story and maybe read a version of it before. We're going to dive a little more deeply into it together!
In the attached document you will find the final "in-class" assignment that you will do on your own time. This will round out our class period to the normal 55 minutes it would have been in-person.
For Homework: (This class is rated a 4 meaning that you will have an hour of in-class work and 3 hours of homework due the following week.)
Most of our homework will revolve around reading the text 45-60 minutes a week and writing about it in the form of questions or 300 word paragraphs. All of the needed links will be included in the homework each week. The homework will probably not take a full 3 hours.
I would like to emphasize the importance of reading. If you do nothing else, (please do everything else!) read the text. My class is based on discussion of what we read and if you haven't read, it will be painfully obvious and the class will be super boring. So, please READ!
This week we will do a little research into the actual life of pirates by reading an article and writing about it.
Homework will be due at the beginning of class next week. Please email with any questions you have: [email protected].
